About Caitlin
With a background in Fine Arts, my love for Etching and Painting illuminated the art of aesthetics, color theory, and composition. As a self taught seamstress, I started making dresses by hand, piecing things together by intuition and trial and error. As my intrigue for fashion became stronger, I decided to start “Bread & Butterflies” in 2003. With the help of a very talented pattern maker, I utilized dead stock fabric to create my vintage inspired designs.
As time went on, I wanted to learn more about the process of pattern making and garment construction. I found myself at FIDM in downtown Los Angeles, where I spent many sleepless nights learning the art of computer aided fashion design, and pattern making.
My passion to create manifests in all facets of my life, and I wish to continue to expand my horizon in the Field of Fashion Design.
